The Nigerian Postal Service, NIPOST is to collaborate with the West African Examination Council (WAEC) in the area of logistics.
The Postmaster General of the Federation/CEO NIPOST, Dr. Ismail Adebayo Adewusi disclosed this when the Head of National Office (HNO), West African Examination Council (WAEC), Mr. Patrick Ehidiamen Areghan visited him in his office.
According to Areghan, the purpose of the visit is to collaborate with NIPOST in the area of Logistics such as using NIPOST locked up vans to deliver WAEC documents.
Aregan also informed that the collaboration with NIPOST will include delivery of certificates, so that those who have written any WAEC exam in the past and have not collected their certificates can easily apply for their Certificate and get it with ease wherever they are residing with the aid of NIPOST delivery services.
He particularly made emphasis on collaborating with NIPOST in Cross River State where their office was recently burnt by hoodlums protesting during #endSARS protest in Calabar.
In his response, the Postmaster General of the Federation/CEO NIPOST, Dr. Ismail Adebayo Adewusi commended West African Examination Council on its laudable achievements and congratulated Mr. Patrick Areghan on his appointment as Head of National Office (HNO), West African Examination Council (WAEC) and for the laudable strides since he assumed office.
Dr. Adewusi emphasized the imperative support of NIPOST to the education of the Nigerian child.
He said “NIPOST has a lot of abundant opportunities to leverage on” for the organization to deliver on its mandate.
He assured the Head of National Office of the support of NIPOST saying “despite our challenges we would make available all assistance we can to support you”.
The Postmaster General said he looks forward to WAEC, once again using NIPOST offices across the country to sell WAEC Exams Registration pins.
To achieve this synergy, a six man ad hoc Committee was set up to work out details of the collaboration.
