An Information and Communications Technology, ICT, Training firm, HiiT Plc, said it has concluded plans to build the capacity of about 2,500 Nigerian graduates on digital skills.
According to the firm, the empowerment is part it’s activities to mark Nigeria’s 60th Independence anniversary and also support the youths.
It said the number will be drawn from the 36 states of the federation as well as the federal capital territory, Abuja.
It also explained that not less than 60 residents from each state including Abuja will be shortlisted for the exercise.
The firm advised the interested persons to visit it’s website to confirm the qualifications required for the opportunity and added that a Nigerian graduate, who is not older than 35 years, is qualified to apply as it will be on first come, first served basis.
HiiT however, said the entry closes in two weeks time.
The Chief Executive Officer of the company, Mr. Kayode Shobajo, said about 60 percent discount would be offered under the exercise on 30 globally trending ICT courses via HiiT Online Training Portal, an instructor led training portal.
He said: “To qualify for a discount voucher, all a graduate needs do is to visit the website or scan a QR code that is visibly displayed on the website. The discount voucher offer will close on October 10 and will be valid for a period of one year,” Shobajo said.
Shobajo highlighted the huge success that the company’s recent scholarship programme for Nigerian universities students recorded as its contribution to COVID-19 pandemic.
He said: “About N20 million worth of scholarships were offered to students in Nigerian universities.”
He disclosed that HiiT online training offers instructor-led training coupled with other training methodology including live interactive classes, videos, slides, whiteboards and simulation labs to impact Information Technology (IT) skills that are in huge demands by employers.
Purple Group grows business with new online shop, purpletv

An ecosystem of brands focused on creating lifestyle experiences, Purple Group has said it has concluded arrangements to launch an e-commerce site, purple.shop to further create lifestyle experiences.
According to the company, purple.shop is a full-service e-commerce platform that leverages Group’s retail base online and helps the stores and businesses in its centres reach more customers through online channels.
It explained that the site provides more than just retail, but also marketing elements and real-time analytics to enable growth for businesses. It is the first of its kind extension of a physical mall to a digital platform.
The group also noted that an online media content channel, purpletv will be lauched alongside purple.shop.
It noted that the online tv an online channel will be dedicated to promoting all Purple’s brands and partners.
The company said: “Contents generated and featured on the platform will be a combination of lifestyle, news and entertainment to suit the nature of businesses present in the centres and the interests of target audience across all Purple products.
“Purple Group will premiere the purple commercial and have performing acts such as Joeboy and other A-list artistes. “There will also be free tickets to shop online at a discounted price exclusive to the first 1000 people to sign up,” the company said.
It added that the group’s lifestyle services spans through real estate, retail, e-commerce, media and advertising, entertainment and family fun, financial services amongst others.
